would that be the Birdwood museum? I have not been there yet but they have lots of great Holdens there.
My fave van was the long wheelbase Bedford with the Statesman grille fogot the name was it VAN DOO? I always wanted one of them but alas money was against me. So I had a white HK called LIANA but never finished it as it was written off in a car accident damm.

Yeah its in the Birdwood musuem, one of the guys in our van club went there a few months ago and got some photos of it. It's still really nice except when you look at the mural of the train is to round, but the details great! Very Happy

Yes Rob,that is the van its good to see that it is in the museum at least it was not wrecked.
If I have got the wizard from dennis a 308 would have gone back in it,but you are right who knows what he was thinking at the time if it was me it would of been a BB chev not ford.
But then again I thought the same thing when a V12 went into alley cat but they owned them so each to there own.

Cheers Tony.

I think Fuzz was trying to do what John Strachan did with Alley Cat but instead of all Jag running gear he used all Ford stuff. Wrecked a good van by doing it, but as you said they owned them and each to his own! Wink I think Dave Fernance also stuffed up when he stuck that 6 in Checkmate after Roachy sold him the body.

I'm not sure about the years but he painted Dougies Ford van at one stage. SMQQTH thats on this site lives with Ron's daughter. Alley Cat was last seen at the All Holden Day in Sydney about 5 years ago, it had a Statesman front fitted to it but otherwise looked the same. It lives in Sydney. SMQQTH's dad's got a lot of paperwork on Alley Cat, like the original sales docket etc.

"Illusions" VY Holden Van was featured here tonight on the "Cruisin' " TV Show . They were talking to the guy that did the murals on how he did the snow scenes. Didn't catch his name as I was on the phone to my brother. Looks good ! Wish there were more new generation VY type vans on the scene .Hey , Rob , are you going to back me up on this?

Thanks Tony ! I did see a couple of weeks ago an all black one, lowered with big 19's or 20 inch 8 spoke wheels. That was wicked! But it was crying out for murals!

Ron where did you see the black one at I am not a big fan of tall rims but on a panel van they would suit them and with that black paint the mural work could be endless.

Cheers Tony.

That's funny, I.m trying to think where I saw it, was probably at the Summernats at Canberra, only saw it once from rear 3/4 angle. I was driving at the time, so no piccie opportunity. Tall rims don't work on some cars and others look awesome , but I THINK because of the big flat panels ,tall rims looked good on this particular van, thats why it got my attention.

I hope that is the right name as old age has set in. The van I am thinking of was a long wheelbase Bedford with HJ statesman grills. I wish I could find my old van mags I kept them but the junk just gets higher ahhhhh.
