Blast from the past Empty Blast from the past

Post by dpride Fri 14 Dec 2012, 2:39 pm

I recently discovered some of my old artwork from school and thought I would share some of the automotive based ones here. The FED is my end of year work from 1964 and was done with ball point pen and poster paint. The other ones are from the 70's and usually drew comments like "what are you smoking?" I was about 18 at the time so some of the mechanics may not be feasible in the "real world" Cool
The drawings are starting to fade a bit........kind of like their creator......

Awesome!
I love them all but particularly the one with the piano.
Did you stop drawing?
I hope not.

Actually, the inspiration seems to be much more fluid without stimulants.
zenrat, I didn't stop drawing, I just changed mediums. Most of the present day "drawings" are digital.

I used to do a lot of airbrushing on bikes and vans. I've posted some van type art and a painting I did on sheet metal for a friend that owned a Mini. All done with "Duco" automotive paints.

OK, i'm going to have to build that in 1/25.

Your airbrush & digital work is great but there's something extra about the biro drawings...

bigthumbsup

Dave ,
really luv your FED , would have blown them away in 64 . It was doing my head in where I'd seen your sketches before untill I found my old Australian Rodscene magazines with your published work in them . The airbrush work is beautiful as well .

Look forward to seeing more , Peter.

Thanks for comments guys.

grey six, I had forgotten about the Rodscene mags. I don't have any recent car art. Most of the drawings and digital work I do now is under NDA agreement as it's design for film or the military. I am still building models though.

AJ : thanks, wish the rear end was real. Here are a couple of different angles of it.
