59 elcamino
not quite stock but not really custom pearl white and its gonna have some scallops and the roof will both be about the same colour as the aircleaner.
Only started due to modellers ADD lol,nah had to redo green striping on cuda (enamel, havent been able to touch it) so boredom kicked in.
did all the engine bay detailing just after this pic was taken

Nice one DSF. I love this kit EXCEPT for that stupid join inside the bed above the rear wheel tubs.

Re: 59 elcamino
yep ya stuffed it up for everyone Fred, its swimming well wading in the easy off ocean. Thought I'ld be clever and foil before clearing since the foil didnt seem all that sticky but it appears it was stickier than the paint, D'oh. Wont have any real time till the weekend so hopefully an update then.

Gotta love that late '50's styling - looks fab. And that detail work underneath - wow! Looking forward to seeing this one finished.

So you've be told at last Zenrat.zenrat wrote:Sorry. I'll try to be good next time.
Shame about the paint like the detail on the chassis. Would look good as a shop truck with a crated Drag motor in the back like the picture you posted earlier

Re: 59 elcamino
Thanks guys, very slowly Al. However its had a swim now and is back in white(hold on that doesnt sound right lol) pearl that is, roofs been redone and I saved the hood so you can see what it looks like again. When paints a bit harder I'll mask up the scallops on the side, its just two shortish ones below the trim on the front gaurd and door
it also appears that the hood doesnt shut on the stock motor because the of air cleaner so I might have to Foose it a little

I think cause I lowered it a bit. little bit if sandiding unde the hood and shes pretty good now. Got the side scallops on today and foiled it then recleared.
Scallops are the same colour both sides but change a bit under low light
Re: 59 elcamino
like the scallops on it ,the red one looks cool too been after 2 of these utes but have always missed out.

Re: 59 elcamino
Nice ride, owned a EL Camino once upon a time. Conquistador 1968 really enjoyed that car.No back seat did everything in the front row Any chance of getting the kit number or a pic of the box art? Amt has two kits one looks like it has been shaved lowered & the other looks kinda like your build.Good job on the kit. Thanks in advance .Gary
