I think there is only 1 kit but (as usual) different box art through the ages.
Having had a quick look on Evil-Bay I can see why you'd think the latest version (metallic blue) has been shaved & lowered compared to older versions.

yep the metallic blue's the one I got. The only difference in the old and new kit is the new instructions dont tell you how to use any of the custom stuff (wife has older cool box art issue)

Coincidentally (do de do do, do de do do - Twilight Zone noise) i came across (shut up Tubbo) a comparison between issues of this kit this morning when I was surfing the net instead of working (no change there then).
Basically all issues since the early ones lost some custom parts & a bed mounted recording studio thingo and had 5 spoke mags replaced with solid centrelines.

zen whats scary is that I just finished reading a book (yep with words and everything) and one of the lead characters came out with the t zone do de do do...... and here you start up with it
