Flamin 57 Chevy
Luke warm off the press.... Finished this one last week after much "life getting in the way" Some of you may have seen the painted body at Tumut - see it's been a while!
Revell's newish 57 Chevy Black Widow kit, which I can wholly recommend if you're looking for a 57 project. This is basically an out of the box build aside from the mandatory lowering and a set of whitewalls pinched from another kit.
No wiring or anything fancy, this was done as a tester for the flame mask set. Paint is all airbrushed Tamiya lacquer & acrylic aside from the (excessively thick!) 2K clear.
Excuse some of the blotchy bits in the pics, had to fiddle with the contrast etc to get them looking half decent... crappy lighting!
Hope you like it!

Re: Flamin 57 Chevy
Thanks, guys!
Kynan, the injection is in this kit. The "Black Widow" had the hot motor, heavier suspension, 6 lug truck wheels and a stripped out interior. Based on the bottom of the range 150 utility sedan, then add the go fast bits!

Re: Flamin 57 Chevy
Chris
When you apply the white first do you shoot the entire mask white & then use the yellow ,orange & red as fades? I was thinking that the white acts as a primer sorta kinda sorta. I cannot wait to try them. Thanks in advance.Gary

Re: Flamin 57 Chevy
Hi Gary,
Yep, I spray the entire mask area white first, so the primer idea is exactly right! Then starting at the tips of the flame spray towards the front of the car with the flame colours. Good luck, looking forward to seeing some shots! Remember to allow plenty of time for your body colour to cure... very important!!!
