Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Nice detail work on the disc brakes, front end, shocks and interior Kane, did the front wheels and tyres already come narrow or did you cut them down? Looks like it's going to be a show stopper when its finished.

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Thanks Geoff.
No, the front tyres are cut down. They were the 19 inch Pegasus T's, but too wide to fit under the guards, so I had to narrow them.
And once again, now we have the guards in the stripper!!
You may have noticed that this is now called 'Double Act' instead. I feel this is now a more fitting name as I have had to do everything at least twice on this model, and now I am at the stage where I am really sick of this build and just want it to be over!

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Thanks Geoff, I need the encouragement. I'm so glad that I was able to find an easy way to strip Urethane clear.
So now I'm thinking, I should do another coat of clear to give a real sweet finish.
I'm also tossing up about maybe doing a carbon fibre stripe down the middle of the car, comments anyone?

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Kane, did'nt you already have an idea for carbon fibre running boards? or that might have been someone else's idea.i would probably go the carbon fibre on the running boards but when your talking about doing a stripe down the middle is that on the sides?

'Morning,Kane. You've done a wonderful take on your interior. Great design and colors with killer execution. You and Joe,the kings of one of a kind. I guess I'm too old style, guy. Very few cars that I like the big rims on. They're growing on me some, tho. I hope you can keep your cool with it. It's going to look great just how you've got it. Hang in there, bud. Best to you.Bill

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Thanks guys.
Geoff - no it would be a single stripe running down the middle of the car, boot, roof, bonnet. Should have explained that better before.

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
CF down the middle will suit it. Matched with a blacked out strip down the middle of the grille.

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Well time for an update to show that I have done some work on this, even though there is not much to show for it.
You may have noticed my rant earlier in this build, well it's true, this one has officially done my head in. Literally every part has been painted at least twice.
As for the guards, they took me 4 attempts to get right.
1st - polished a fraction too much, and went through the clear and couldn't save it...
2nd - think I tried redoing too quick, sprayed clear on and a couple of drops of clear spat out of my airbrush and discoloured the base coat...
3rd - got a fisheye in the clear, could've polished out but I tried the old 'put a drop of clear in the eye, everyone else does it trick', and it crazed my base coat in that spot...
4th - finally worked.
The problem now is that my confidence is so shot, that I'm having trouble finishing it, as I don't want to wreck it, it took me hours to get the courage just to mask and spray the running boards.
Anyway, you will see that it is slowly getting there, I want to finish it so I can start my next one and put this behind me.
Hope the pics are ok, thanks for looking.

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
There is no one more critical of a work of art than the artist himself. Sometimes you have to know when to say stop and be happy with "that's good enough", otherwise you will never be satisfied. Everything looks fine to me and to many others from their comments here, so keep at it and finish it. Leave perfection to those who are full of BS.

Looking good! I'll be happy to see you finish this one too, looks like it will be worth the hassles. Front suspension looks the goods, reckon you'll need a mirrored base to sit this sucker on!

Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Totally awesome so far Kane. Champagne gold with bronze is turning out to be a killer colour combo on this build. That engine is really sweet too. Are the headers and fuel injection original kit parts too? If they are, I'll be hunting that kit down.

Thanks Shawn, headers are from the kit, fuel injection I made myself from aluminium and brass tubing.ShawnS wrote:Totally awesome so far Kane. Re: 32 Ford 'Knight-mare'...
Thanks Clutch.
Well, we're slowly getting there, the light is at the end of the tunnel.
Here is pretty much the completed chassis, I only have to add on the rear shocks that I made, it is easier to do that now everything is in place.
The owner had to install the brake booster upside down to make room for the exhausts, but don't worry, everything was fabricated so it works as normal.
Thanks for looking.
