Re: Slightly altered '51 Chevy Fleetline.
Aha! That's just a bodyside moulding with 2 tome paint.
Fear not, that's on my list of options, using a fabricated moulding or maybe even traditional Buick side moulding.
The 'Vette coves are still top of my list as they represent a significant change in the shape of the body.
Likewise using the '57 Chrysler arches however using them will change the 'period' or basic theme of the can and I'll need to rethink the small grille opening. Maybe even go with quad headlamps.

Re: Slightly altered '51 Chevy Fleetline.
Watson's 'Grapevine, is an iconic Kustom from the perior immediately following where mine is.
The look I'm after with the small pouting grille opening is more aligned with Hartry Bradley's classic kustom 'La Jolla' (pronounced Lahoya).
PS - I've already modified the grille to more closely resemble Bradley's car. More pics later.

No - not to my knowledge. It is from the web, however this is a time to exercise prudence - the picture is there to illustrate model car pin striping - nothing more.

Re: Slightly altered '51 Chevy Fleetline.
Got the coves swapped from the 'Vette to the '51, relatively easy job, untill I decided to add the edge. But I am pleased with how they worked out.
Next Up I added the lovres to the bonnet/hood.
Then got the grinder happening and rmoved the outer moulding from the 'Vette grille. Mounted from behind th opening it looks much better than before. Notice I've also moulded in place the stock headlamp rims.
Not much has changed around the back, just a little tidy up work which will be going for a while I think.
Next up will be lots of time to make the body and mod's perfect then the interior and mechanical bits before assembly.

Re: Slightly altered '51 Chevy Fleetline.
After weeks and weeks of filling and sanding I got some colour applied.
Didn't go quite as planned but here's where I'm at!

Re: Slightly altered '51 Chevy Fleetline.
Howdy,Carps. That's very slick.Looks kinda like a pair of snake skin boots I had. Very much like that. Diamond back rattler. That'd make a far out interior, too, maybe in gold or copper and black or dark brown. I guess I just get all het up over the whole darn thing. It's a beauty, bud. Great job. Best. Bill
