Slick Dick’s Dream Deuce

Final completion for 2010 and this one concludes my trio of channelled Deuces that I have been working on for the last couple of years.

It’s one of my own resin bodies channelled over a Revell frame that has been Z’d in the back and pie-cut forward of the firewall. Engine is the six carb Pontiac mill from an AMT ’36 Ford with scratchbuilt open headers and some air cleaners made from chrome tree scraps. Front and rear axles and headlights are from a Revell ’37 pick up. I was struggling with a colour scheme for this one but finally settled on this ivory/red combo but once painted it looked a bit plain, so I came up with some humorous door graphics to liven things up.

I made a mold and cast these years ago...about six months before Revell released their excellent five window deuce kit... doh

Outstanding! The best " Slick Dicks" I've ever seen (and the first). Love the pinstriping work - makes it all come alive.

A moot point not directed at this model - do hot rods not have need of windscreen wipers?
