Is it time for another Mercury?
Just in case I couldn't save the '49 Chevy, I opened an AMT '49 Merc and just whacked the top.
Kind of a quickie job but since my last Merc was all shiney, that's the look I was after for this one.
It'll be finished as a kind of 'work in progress' Kustom, a bit tatty round the edges but a kool daily driver all the same.

Good for you Carps. Nothing like a tatty '49 to cruise around in. You can never have too many Mercs IMO.

Not sure what wheels and tyres to run, but I have a plan for the interior, using mostly the stock parts and a little paint.
Not sure of the body needs to have a little rust added, or just some dirt.

Re: Is it time for another Mercury?
No rust. Given the work the owner's already done I think he would have cut out and replaced any rusty areas while he had the welder out to do the top.

Re: Is it time for another Mercury?
Maybe some primed patch panels where the rust has been cut out.
