It's been a few weeks since I've seen this build, it just keeps getting better and better. There is so much information and creativity in this build, you could sell it!! I'd buy it! "How To Scratchbuild Everything".
Hats off to you Shawn, you are a true master

You have got to be kidding me.
Every time I go on this thread, I am breath taken, and once again.
So much detail put into a part that won't be seen.
I have got to agree with Mopar, probably Australia's best build.

Yea I spoze you're right, someone might steal it. There are a few more details that I would have to add as well. (can't have that now can we )

Wow!!! Everytime I look at this thread, you have raised the bar even higher!! As a Ford man, and a wheel aligner for over 10 years, I have spend a fair bit of time under X series falcons, and that front end is spot on!! You sir, are a Legend!!

Thanks again for the comments guys.
I've had quite a few stalled projects with extra details but nothing that's as extensive as this build. I can struggle to build basic models sometimes. Honest.

Thanks again all. It's good to see some new names popping up and some old names returning for another look.
Geez the boy is keen. I didn't get much build time over the weekend but I am working on another update for some time this week.

Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
I think Ford should make you an offer for their museum ... something of equal vaue like a Phase 4 or GT40.
Seriously, there has to be someone out there following this thread who can give it the recognition it deserves. I think I commented a long while back that it should at least get a magazine article, then I thought a serial but it realy deserves a book. I look at some of the parts you do, work out the size & try replicating some bit but I just drop them or realise that Ford probably never made triangular discs. Best bit is that you seem to be realy enjoying the build & thats the most important part

Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
Ok here we go again. The last piece of the puzzle that needs to be in place before I start on the engine bay is the radiator. I measured up a piece of styrene and added borders around it.
I cut some PE Radiator mesh to fit into the centre and added some Evergreen strips around the edges and a thin strip down the centre.
After I trimmed and sanded the edges I then moved on to the sides. I started by cutting a length of Evergreen square strip and tacked it to the edge of a larger piece of strip. I then sanded it to shape.
I then glued a lot of thin strips over the smaller strip that I shaped earlier. I used copious amounts of solvent glue to soften the thin strips and that helped them settle in to place.
When the glue had set I then cut off and cleaned up the sections that I shaped earlier and glued them to the sides of the radiator.
I used a large single piece for the borders on the other side. It's larger because I wanted that extra room to glue the shroud onto.
For the fan shroud I started with the ring from a Tamiya Sierra radiator and began adding styrene.
The finished part with extra details like brackets, mounting points for the hoses and a PE cap.
Just to see how it looked, I mounted it on to the chassis and put some hoses on it too. I did have to trim the bottom of the shroud a bit to get it where I wanted it to be.
Now I have to start on the engine bay. It's a bit of a prick of a thing to do. I have been kicking a few ideas around and I think I'm getting closer to figuring it out. The next update may be a little while yet.
Thanks for looking again.
CheersSS

Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
I have to say I am really disappointed in this update. You didnt scratch build the easiest bit but used / stole the ring from another kit. Shame on you .....
Yet again you make it look sooooo bloody easy. Im betting even the radiator cap is right the pressure is well.

Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
I can not believe the mount of detail you are putting into the build will be waiting and watching with the rest on here for the next bit to unfold

OH YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHH!!!!! Update
Far out Shawn, there you go again, making it look so easy. Incredible stuff mate
I think I'm going to have to scrap the intercoolers I made for one of my projects after seeing that, you've given me some more ideas to step it up a notch or two. Thanks mate

Thanks guys. Started work on the engine bay today so we'll see how I go replicating this mad jumble of sheet metal.
No worries Zac. It looks like you're about to get the scratchbuilding bug. Lets hope we get to see something from you soon...
