VW Karmann Ghia... *this one is finished!!*

This is my new build I've been working on for a few weeks now, (I'm definitely getting slower in my old age), and thought I should try and do another WIP.
Not a real lot to say at this stage, the photos are self explanatory.
I've had to make the rear wheel tubs bigger to accommodate the larger wheels.
The stance should be actual when finished, as long as I have my measurements correct. The rear is right anyway.
Colours are down to two choices, but I want to get chassis finished before making a decision.
Engine will be standard, although I might try to add a turbo if I can fit one, just for a bit more poke.
Anyway as always, comments and criticisms will be taken on board.

Awesome - these are such great looking cars. One of my favourite designs.

Thanks guys, thought I might get bagged out for building a VDub but it seems there are fans here.
It is a classic shape, personally I like the bulby kind of shape over the larger rear wheels.

Tezza - yep, the Tamiya kit, very crisply molded and hardly any mold lines to remove.

Nuthin wrong with old VDubs, especially the early KG's which have one of the prettiest bodies ever applied to a motor car, timeless design that still looks great today and will look equally good tomorrow.

Marshie - the wheels are Pegasus 19" Chrome DZ's with a 23" aluminium sleeve for the rears.

I have managed to get some colour on the body. I actually got it done yesterday, cleared today, stuffed it up, and have just redone the base colour.

The colour looks nothing like in the photo, good ol' artificial lighting, its actually Testors Bright Aqua Pearl with Zero Grand Prix White for the roof.





And I'm thinking about having this kind of arrangement for the exhaust...

Update time.
Haven't got much done, been really busy lately, but here is what I have done.
Engine is done and mounted to the chassis. Had to remake the drive shaft to accommodate the lower suspension. The distributor has to be installed once the interior tub goes on (unfortunately).
Installed the battery.
And a photo of the body, still in the polish stage, but it shows the colour better than previously.
