V12 S.O.H.C. motor.
After talking about this in Andy`s Gasser thread, i decided i had better start building this behometh.
The picture that started this, experimental motor by ford that did not get past this stage.
727 cubic inches of hell .
What i have done today.
Comparison with a stocker
In the engine bay of a 69 Galaxie
Still more too do, but this is the basic setup .

That is awesome Steve - well done mate. Ford V12 engines have a long history - Lincoln made one in the 1930's, and 3 experimental V6 engines were made into V12's by placing two in line. From that experiment a new V12 engine was designed for the Aston Martin sports car series (which Ford owns). Ford also made a V12 from a V8, like you are doing, again as an experiment. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at some of these engineering experiments.

Nice work Steve! Casting these is a must as I would love one for a Rat Rod and I'm sure so would a few others................Bryce may be up for casting duties!!!!

Re: V12 S.O.H.C. motor.
Okay i can see i have opened a can of worms with this . Unfortunately this is no where good enough for casting. It was just something crazy too do. I think i had better start assembling the parts needed for a more accurate master.
These AMT engines are not very accurate, the blocks are very generic and the v angle is about 110 degrees . But they are a lot better than the Revell ones. It would need a stronger gearbox as well, maybe a C6.

I was actually thinking about making one of these myself after seeing Steve's picture. I happen to have a couple of those SOHC V8s laying around in my stash and I reckon Steve's idea is pretty damn cool...

Get into it Steve - too cool not to pursue mate. That picture has changed my life! I have never built one, but didn't Revell have a SOHC engine in their Thunderbolt Fairlane kit released about ten year ago? I believe that kit was lauded at the time, so perhaps a couple of those engines would be a good start for the master...

Re: V12 S.O.H.C. motor.
Bryce, the motor in the T-Bolt is a 427 Wedge. The only Revell sohc motor i am aware of is the one in their Gassers from the 70s, like the one in Andy`s Henry J, and it is a horrible representation.
The most accurate one i know of is in the AMT 33 Willys Coupe Gasser, but i don`t have any of those at the moment.
I have found a C6 in the `66 AMT Fairlane that will do for a street motor.
