Re: `64 Fairlane.
Thanks Tj, as you probably guessed, i`m not rushing this build. All i have to do is create a custom interior for it. I`m aiming to have both of them done by the end of the year, but seeing as the green one has been going for nearly 2 years, wait and see .

Here is a pic of a stock 4 door. The 2 door (T-Bolt) and 4 door sedans had the same wheel base. Move the B pillar forward and rescribe the door lines, and you have a 4 door.

The biggest problem with the Revell body is the rear is too short , but that is more work than i`m prepared to do to fix.

Re: `64 Fairlane.
I just rechecked my references, there is no mention anywhere that the 2doors were shorter. All `62 to `64 Fairlane models shared the same wheelbase of 115.5 inches. The bodies where also the same length. The `65 models where 116 inches. After that they started to grow again. The rear overhang on the Revell body is wrong, should be 3mm longer. The rest of the body is right though.

Re: `64 Fairlane.
Hello All right?
My name is Agnaldo, I'm modeling here in
Brazil, and their work come together in this kit and I must confess
that it is getting beautiful. Congratulations.
I have such a
kit, but is not the same box, but how Revell believe to be the same
kit, and will be my second kit to be assembled, because the first is a
Toyota Supra that just posting here.
I have a doubt as to the
lowering of the kit. How did you do to put the larger front wheel, and
the wheels of my box of kit it is not because the box is closer? I
refer to those areas highlighted in red circles.
I say this because I tried to put a wider wheel in the kit and it does not enter when the kit is lowered.
Have boxes of wheels and come back, and if they problem is easy to modify.
Thank you for your attention and sorry for the errors, use Google translator.

Re: `64 Fairlane.
Welcome aboard Agnaldo. This is a good question, i had to get the model out of the box as i could not remember. I trimmed away part of the inner wheel well, and shortened the springs so i could angle them a bit for clearance.
I also narrowed the wheels by about 2mm and found tyres to match. Hope this helps.

Re: `64 Fairlane.
Steve,
Thanks for the response and reception.
I'll see if I do that on my model, and when I do I will post my WIP here for you to see. Thank you.

Re: `64 Fairlane.
Time for an update.
Have made a start on the replica of my old car. Have filled in the door lines and redone the window frames.
Still need to scribe the new door lines.
Mocked up the chassis to see what needs to be done.
Some pics of the 1:1 with my old hard top.
More pics of them here

Re: `64 Fairlane.
Yeah I do, especially with the prices they pull these days. Makes it hard to buy more.
I sold both of them in `81 to finance my first bike, made 100% profit on both of them too. Cost me $700 to get both of them, sold them for nearly $1500, which was good money for them at the time.
