Re: 31 Pickup
As it's almost all metal, how about a metal colour?
Gold, Silver, Tungsten?
Copper would look good.

Well got a bit more done last weekend. Headlights are on. The cabs now in primer, the tray has been covered in real wood and the seat has been made and upholsted.
This weekend it may even get some paint if the the weather plays fair.

Sweet!!!!
I think yellow will suit it, or you can't go wrong with flat black.

Thanks for the ego boost and yes, I do see myself as an artist but no more so than the rest of the amazing people on this forum. Anyone who builds models and adds to the basic box stock is using artisic talents whether they realise it or not. The basic element of artistry is imagination so every time you add a spark plug lead or paint a colour, you are being an artist. I just use a slightly different medium to everyone else.

You must have read my mind. Back in the early 80's I ran around in a bright yellow Holden HJ Panelvan. The colour was called Absinth Yellow and it's been my favourite ever since. Besides, I thought of flat black but the body work needs to be absolutely perfect or else every tiny detail stands out like dogs whatsits. In the panel trade, they use it as a guide coat just for that reason.

Re: 31 Pickup
I reckon yellow overall with black accents sounds perfect. Can't wait to see this gem when it's finished. Top work Pete!
I recall in the late seventies the Holden Sandman panelvan had Absinth Yellow as an option colour, and I believe the Vic Police also experimented with that colour on one of their vehicles for interception visibilty.

Re: 31 Pickup
Well she's just about finished. Just a few minor details to do like sign writing on the doors, a number plate and something to put in the tray.
I hope it's yellow enough for RS2000. I can't tell you how much it weighs as our kitchen scales only go up to 10 kilo's. I plan on having it all done in time to enter it in the model of the month for Oct. I'll also have some much better photo's by then as well as it's very dark and overcast today.
