Re: PICS Model Expo 2012
The guy who built the "tonner" is Geoff Manicolo from Melbourne. He specialises in customising 1:18 scale diecasts. He is on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/gmanicolo?ref=nf_fr
I think you have to join FB to get onto his pages, but his builds are worth looking at. The HZ below was modified using 3 separate models plus extra parts that he either has as leftovers, or aftermarket.
Cheers

You enter a car in Kerbside seeing it fits the category as it has no engine yet the organisers decide to lump the car into Competition vehicles as it has sponsor decals on it, I can’t see where it says that kerbside is for road going street cars only...
Shayne I am no longer on the Model Expo committee, but I did point out this anomaly to them at this year's show and they are going to clarify the Cars - Kerbside category for future Model Expos. It has always been the case at Model Expo that competition cars be grouped together in an Open category, regardless of their detail content. I have requested they add an extra line to the Cars - Kerbside category description i.e. "excludes all competition vehicles". This way there is no confusion. I have also requested clarification regarding a situation where a competition car is eligible for the Kerbside category if it has no racing livery on it (as in a museum or private collection). As soon as I hear back from the Model Expo Director I'll post his answers here.
Cheers
