Triumph TR4 by Jadi-Modelcraft
This is Jadi's 1:18 scale diecast Triumph TR4 that took part in the 1964 Shell 4000 Trans-Canada Rally. Car number 155 was one of three works rally cars entered. It finished in 21st place outright and 2nd place in the teams award. We don't see many rally cars on the forum so I thought this one would be a good starter.

Do you know if they made it to the end of the rally? After watching Top Gear last week I'd be surprised...

Bryce all of the works TR4's finished that rally, despite the jeers of many rival competitors who believed the Triumph's mag wheels wouldn't stand the rigors of rallying. Even a lone privately entered TR4 finished in 44th place. The Triumph register website has a link to a newsletter of the event for viewing at http://shell-4000-rally.org/
On the same website you will find full 1964 Shell Rally results that show the TR4's finished in 16th, 17th, and 21st places. Some of the DNF's included a Falcon Sprint, Morris Cooper, Volvo P-1800, Chevy Nova II, Valiant, Ford Thunderbird, and even a Ferrari. The little Triumphs were tough and durable, but not enough to beat the Volvo that won the rally. A Chevy II Nova ran second and a Falcon Sprint took third place.
I wouldn't accept everything Top Gear said about the TR4 as Gospel - you have to own a car to know its true capabilities and nuances.
