They made them as vans.

or an off highway dump truck.
But the trick is to reverse a loaded ute towing a small trailer using only the mirrors.
Which is when I stop, get out, unhook the trailer and move it by hand. I know my limitations...

Re: SS Holden UTE
sounds like you had a nice racer mines in the shop getting a new blower idiots at a local performance shop here blew the old one to smitherines, new super charger new air con compressor and a new bonnet, guy who had the ute before me had a twin x force system installed but it sounded crap at 2500 rpm or above so i cut the balance pipe out and welded her up sounds ALOT better i can tell you i had considered putting 20's on but i can barely afford rubber for the 18's that are on it, and that leak must be a universal thing mine does it aswell but mine was stuffed windsheild sealant nothing a bit of sikaflex 225+ extra didnt fix did you ever have problems with the engine immobiliser or starter motor? mine has certain blonde or senior moments where it doesnt want to start then all of a sudden fires up before i get to turn the key again i think its possesed.

nah, nothing like that, although it did like to lock itself at inappropriate times (ie: when i'd stopped 100km's north of Tennant Creek and left my phone & keys sitting on the drivers seat)

lol thats alot worse then my first day with my ute, the car alarm went off in the car park while i was in shopping and was on for quite some time and it was announced over the shopping center PA system and i didnt recognise the rego number 5 times they announced it, when my wife realised it was our car, this was after we had finished shopping and gotten back to a car that was going ballistic i got the " you are a total noob" statement from her.

Re: SS Holden UTE
My Vz had the same blonde moments. only happened twice. Had to crank the thing 3 times and then away it went. Bought a brand new suzuki grand vitara and with only 4000km on the clock ....it did the same thing. It did it again 3 months ago with 30,000 on the clock. Very bad feeling when it wont start first pop like normal !
Re: SS Holden UTE
yeah it is a bit dis concerning ive gotta drive my step sons old VR commodore around until i get the ute back and this thing is a heap of junk, gotta put power steering fluid in every 2 days the starter motor doesnt like to work properly the pinion gear gets stuck and it makes a terrible rattle, the fuel pump is on its last legs you have turn the key to accessory 3 or 4 times to prime the lines and on top of that my step son in his infinite wisdom thought that covering the inside of the car with black and red shag pile was a good idea......i get pulled over for an RBT and the cops think im a pimp not a good look i can tell you, so my daily drive 40k's to and from work has been anything but boring since borrowing it, you dont know whether your going to get home or not its a great little adrenaline rush sometimes its good it will take anywhere from 30 to 50 mins to start so by the time i get on the road all the peak hour traffic is gone so you know swing and round a bouts i guess haha

Re: SS Holden UTE
Thought I'd better get my act together and get some old builds happening again.
I started this one in February this year, wow time flies.
not to mention my 75 series Landcruiser that I started back in January 09.
anyhow I got the first coat of primer on just to see how I'm goin with it.
Im happy with the shape, just have to start detailing it.
