Dick Landy Dodge
First model in 15 months nearly complete. Decals were brittle and didn't snug down onto bonnet real well so I masked off the blue and orange stripes and painted them. Humbrel meatallic blue and Boyds Sunburst Orange. Should be finished soon. This is also my first go at submitting photos on this forum, thanks to Shoey.

Re: Dick Landy Dodge
Good job.
Particularly those hinges.
As someone who works on a "bombsite bench" Can I just say that your building area/desk/bench is far too orderly and neat.

Re: Dick Landy Dodge
Zenrat, check out "My work area" topic. Photos of model room and description.
tjjr07, I used Tamiya 6mm masking tape to mask off the stripes. Tedious, YES! but worth it. Colour scheme is too match the supplied decals. You can see a section of the box art in the 4th photo.
Hinges: a Shoey special. He showed me how to do them the first night I met him. I also utilised the kit plastic hinges to replicate the real hinges when the bonnet is open.

Looks like a 'race car' to me.
No matter really as it's a damn fine looking build and the paint colour match to decals is excellent.
Is this the kit with the Dick Landy figure?
I'm with Zenrat on the bench deal. How do you do that?

Re: Dick Landy Dodge
Carps, no this kit didn't have a figure with it.
Clean bench? try moving house and sorting/disposing of unneccessary s--t and starting fresh.
I buy the thickest cardboard from the newsagent and blutack it to the bench. Overtime it gets covered in paint, glue, pen/pencil scribble (a certain 6 year old is good for that, Dennis will no who) I then turn the cardboard over and start again. When both sides are stuffed, in the bin and back to the newso. Its also good for soaking up spillages (turps/thinner) and reflects the light from above to aid vision. I don't use a desk lamp, the lighting at the moment is from a flouro light on the ceiling directly above the desk.
