2010 Ford Mustang GT
Decided to build this kit whilst trying to also build a truck. This is Revells 2010 Ford Mustang GT (as clearly seen in first pics for those that cant read and just look at pics).
I was going to say, built stock with minor changes, ahhh NO. I have changed the offset of the rims to give them some external dish on both front (minor) and rear (nice deeper dish). Hopefully pics show this as compared to box art.
To achieve that I cut up the standard rims and reglued them with the rim bands glued onto the frontside of the rim.
It has also been lowered. The front was easily done by grinding down the front crossmember mounts on the chassis (shown in next pic, red circle)
and by cutting the rear springs by about 4mm (shown in pics, again in red circle).
This then also involved grinding out the inner guards and the rear inner guards to allow the tyre's to fit. Also the rear floor pan has been cut to allow the diff centre to sit in properly.
There will be some other changes done as the build continues.
Colour choice is still a bit vague in my head but I am trying not to do the standard old racing stripes up and over the bonnet, roof and boot. Maybe two toned???
Stay Tuned

Re: 2010 Ford Mustang GT
Here it is with the wheels de-chromed, alcladed chrome and spokes painted gloss black. Body is Racing Blue with 2 coats of mica blue and 2 coats clear. Blacked out areas are satin black. Engine will be stock. Interior is almost done as well. Hope to have this one and the GMC done by the weekend. See how I go.
I thought I had stuffed up the blue paint when after masking the areas to paint the back sections, I removed the masking tape only for the tape to leave behind tape residue marks over almost the entire blue sections. I wet sanded all the blue, then polished and through pure arseness (is that a word) the shine came back. Some more polishing and it will be sweet.
