Re: MEMBERS 1.1 BUILDS
Hey guys, so many tuff n cool cars here it's fantastic. Just thought I wouldn share my rides. I am a lucky lucky guy with a very understanding partner.
First up is my pride and joy, although I haven't used it in a long time (thanks to Bob Jane). the VC is powered by a mild 440 and runs the 1/4 in low 10's. Had just put gas (N2O) on it when all the grief first blew up about AIR, but rekon that when I get back to the track should be able to get it running solid 9's without to much trouble.
My other car is a 60 Pontiac Laurentian that belonged to my partners uncle and is a long term project. The car hasn't been driven since 81, when the uncle was selling his farm he offered us the car. Got it for $1400 and while the paint is completely shot, it is complete and there is no structural rust anywhere in the car. Couldn't beleive my luck.

Re: MEMBERS 1.1 BUILDS
WOW , all 3 look cool (yes , I'm counting the dodge truck as well) , love the Val but how long does it take to change the plugs with those pipes ? Pontiac looks like a magic cruising car , does it run and what condition is it in other than the paint ?

WOW - that sure is a tough Val you've got there Mr Mopar. Would love to go for a ride! And yeah - loving the old Dodge flat bed truck too.
Good luck with the Pontiac resto. My old man's got three of them suckers - a '64 Parisienne sedan, a '62 Parisienne hardtop and a '59 Bonneville coupe.

Re: MEMBERS 1.1 BUILDS
All going to plan I pick this up tonight.
It's a VC 6 with traumatic. Box has been shift kitted and motor has crow cam, yella terra roller rockers and an exhaust that is just loud enough without being raucous. Plus its been slightly lowered.
It needs a new sill, surface rust dealing with, rubbers, tail shaft centre bearing and a few oil leaks looking at. Plus a few dings sorting out, paint and the interior looking at.
I've had a set of Commodore fitment Globealikes in my shed for a couple of years which i'll get blasted and polished and I must admit i've always liked the thought of a 6 with triple webers...

Re: Members Builds
Here are some photos of my rides over the last 20 years. My first car I have already put on the forum under first rides. A 1972 LC Torana 4 cyl, hey its what I could afford at the time.
Traded the LC in on a 6 cylinder LH G Pac Torana. Usual thing, extractors and system (I was an exhaust fitter so that was easy), different wheels over the time that I had it. Later in that time I built a 253 V8 and put in it with toploader and 9 inch arse end.
Sold that and bought this 1977 Fairmont with 302, C4 and standard rear end. Over time had it resprayed, put in a limited slip disc brake rear end and a FMX auto.
After respray
After respray hit a bloke on a motorbike, so back to the paint shop.
Photos prior to trade in
Had the Fairmont for about 9 years and then traded it for an EB XR6
I have had this one for about 9 years as well, but now its time for it to go to. Its been a good car but now with a life change its time to get something more practical. I pick up a new car on Wednesday, just in time for Xmas. I'll put up some photos when I get some pictures. The EB is now up for sale. Anyone interested?????????

Re: MEMBERS 1.1 BUILDS
As I mentioned earlier I have purchased a new car. Not really in the scheme of hot rods or street cars but something more practical for us at the moment. I have plans of what I would like to do in the next few years and Shoey adds his thoughts every now and then as to what I should build. Lets just say one idea is Mustang orientated and the Ranger will be an ideal tow vehicle.

This is my "baby".
78 HZ Tunna. 253 and four speed. 3.55 rear. Going to do her up eventually, but will have to wait until I get a bit more $$$$ saved!
Done a few things so far. New stereo, SAAS tiller, VP Commondore seats, new gearbox ( the old one decided to eat 1st 2nd and 3rd on the way to work one morning!) and a few running rust repairs and general tidy up. Also, after hitting my first kangaroo and destroying the "egg crate" grille, I got the one in the pic and just painted the bars black for a different look. Turned out all right I think!
I recently got myself a HZ wagon parts car that had a 3.08 diff in it, so that will be the next thing I do on it. Wouldnt mind a disk brake rear either.
No where near a show car but it gets me where I need to be and I love it
