39 wagon rod

This is AMT 39 wagon rod, I have changed it to a custom 39 chevy panel truck did not like the woody side panels or on the rear, so I been thinking on what to do with the ugly panels on it, I filled then in with  Humbrol model filler putty, its taken me 3 weeks to get the side to were I was happy with it, once I put the putty on I wait 3 day for it to dry before sanding it,once I got close I primed the body with Tamiya primer, this afternoon I put Tamiya Blue-X-4 which is a dark colour.

Looks good mate. I saw that big ol hole where the grill is going and thought .... paint it yellow ... fill it with teeth
and call it PACvan  hehehe

Not a bad idea but will pass on it,was going to put a white top on it but changed my mind as I would of buggered it up.lol

Looks good smoothed out Al, keen to watch this one come together.

Ya checkmate it looks better as a custom panel then a woody wagon.

Thanks All, ya it looks odd as a wagon, was looking at putting thin strips of plastic card in the panels but use the putty first,one thing with putty there is no ghosting lines, will be removing the chrome off the rims and painting them.

 I like the panels sides better than a woody, never been a big woody fan (I'll probably get smashed by some for saying that)
Oh and I DO like the colour  

There was to much dark blue on the wagon rod so I put a bit of white on it.

DONT FRIGGIN TOUCH IT ....thats perfect. Those colors just work so well .

What can't me repaint three or four more times,lol,me not going to paint any more.

You beauty Allan, love that 2 tone. Those colours compliment one another really well. The photo's dont do this paint job any justice ive seen it in person, its lush. Keep up the good work.

This looks so much better Allan , I like it this way , as was said don't do any more to it , just build it .

Thanks VintageJDM, silverfox, it needed the white to break up the blue as to me there was to much blue on it. Oh had a idea of striping chrome off bumper bars,grill,rims and painting them white, Y/N on that.

Looks good Allan, but what colour are you going to end up with.??  

I think leave the chrome on the bumpers etc though.

just painted the under side of fenders and floor pan me forgot to do that.

joey1320,  The kit is the old AMT '39 wagon rod (30087)  found two kits on Star Models site I bought one, silverfox bought the other one. Will be building it OOB just filled in the side and rear woody panels with putty. Box art of kit that I used.
