Ok so the oven cleaner is coming out and this is going back to bare styrene. My top colour coat is scratching off the base white way too easy and even peeling off with the masking tape. Either the Tamiya enamel doesn't adhere to the Humbrol enamel very well or I cocked it up by being too eager with the wet and dry and went too smooth in between coats.......... dunno?? Starting again is the best option. Might use Tamiya white as the base coat this time

That sucks man.
It seems to me that too often I hear things like that about Tamiya paint.
Maybe it's fate telling you it should be white with yellow stripes...

.... the white and yellow does look good..... but I'm not going to let this striped grapey thing beat me. I'll treat is as a lesson and not mix brands, going to try Tam white this time
I'm curious as to what you're going to use the white and yellow on though Zenster?
