71 Duster
Ok... this one fell off the radar I know, but I was a bit put off by the crap paint job I did. So after stripping and a second paint job was laid down and I got home from holidays, I got my a&$# into gear and got this done.
I wasn't really happy with the Tamiya enamel I used, it scratches off real easy and anything besides water seems to affect it...not happy
Besides the paint debacle, it was a nice kit to build as a supposed "quick build". I liked the out of the box upgrades, wheels and injected engine, so all I altered was the ride height, the rocker covers and rear tyres. It's fairly stock besides that. The only other thing I think it needs is white 340 call-outs on the rear panels (no I don't have any) but if I find some I might add them later.
Anyway blah blah enough of my dribble here's the pics...enjoy.
Cheers
TJ

Re: 71 Duster
And that is about the ONLY way to improve on a Hemi, extra cylinders!!
Has turned out a beautiful build mate, color looks sweet and the stripes really break it up and set it off.
Interior looks great, even down to the wooden gear knob.

Re: 71 Duster
That is not a Viper engine.
It's a 340 V8 with twin throttle body fuel injection.
It's the engine which AMT supply with the Street machine version of the '71 Duster kit.
Granted they styled the injection to look like the Viper set up but if you look at the second pic of the engine you will see there are 4 runners per side. As in 4+4=8.
Nice job Tim.

Re: 71 Duster
Thanks guys, I'm again humbled by the Top of Page pic.
Yep as Zen eluded to, it's the kit 340 V8 with a Viper style intake manifold and Viper wheels, all I did was fit a couple of cut down V10 rocker covers to help complete the Viper theme, I thought they looked much better than the kit rocker covers.
Funny thing is the box art photos actually show a V10 in it, but in the kit its just the dressed up V8.
Cheers TJ
