'34 five window coupe
New one for me. Building my first ever stock roof height hot rod. This has started from the leftovers of my hiboy project. Gonna be a simple one this time though. Mainly kit based, with a flathead, lowered kit suspension and a set of painted steelies with trim rings and baby moons. Thinking royal blue with red rims. Made a start by hacking out the crossmembers and found some rims in my parts stash which have some strip styrene added which I will BMF later to create trim rings. Here's some pics:

Re: '34 five window coupe
Instead of BMF on the rims, have you tried Chrome Alclad?

Great project Bryce, always look forward to seeing your work, I agree Alclad is awesome, makes chrome work a lot easier. Keep it up

I'd say he's only using BMF for the rings not the rims! they would be regular painted steelies, correct me if I'm wrong Bryce!

Yeah - that's correct. Just using the BMF to make the chrome trim rings. Would be a lot of masking involved to do this with Alclad. I do use Alclad a lot on all my suspension parts, etc. In fact most of the chrome on my other '34 is actually Alclad.

Re: '34 five window coupe
So it aint gunna be a really fast hot rod?
Hey Bryce, everybody has a chopped hot rod, stock height makes it stand out from the crowd of belly button cars.
Keep it going, once you've finished it, I'll see how my similarly themed number compares.

Re: '34 five window coupe
I'm having trouble finding any concentrated time to finish things off at the moment, so I have a lot of 'almost done' models - this is another one...
As ridiculous as it seems. I took advantage of this beautiful late May weather to do some more painting and am pretty happy with the results. This is a couple of coats of 'Bermuda Blue' enamel strraight from a pre-warmed rattle can. I don't think I'm even going to bother polishing this one...

Re: '34 five window coupe
Thanks guys - appreciate the nice words. There's really not much left to do on this one, so I'm going to do my best to finish it off this week. Will be a good feeling to have something done - has been months for me.

Re: '34 five window coupe
Sweet.
Sometimes that'll happen with rattle cans - a perfect paintjob straight out of the can. And then you try again, think you're doing everything the same but it's not as good.
Red interior & grille insert and white firewall would look pretty good...
