Crystal clear windows!!!!!
Hey all, If you're like me, your least favourite part of final assembly is windows. I hate it. UNTIL NOW!!!!
I've been gluing and varnishing photos, and general hot rod stuff to my bar at home, so have an abundance of AQUADHERE around at the moment, so I gave it a shot for my latest jigger I'm finishing up. Here's what I did(no pics sorry):
1-Cut your windows, trim any flash, polish, etc.
2-Sit them in the (upturned) body of your model, in the location you're happy with.
3-Grab your Aquadhere, and a paint brush. Simply brush around the edge of the window, while it is in place in the body.
4- Leave the body sitting upside down, let the glue set (turns clear).
Finally, flip the body, inspect your windows and clean of any Aquadhere that has weeped through with a toothpick- it comes off really easy.
Job done, enjoy that crystal clear "glass"

Re: Crystal clear windows!!!!!
Thanks RK.
Dipping the "glass" into Pledge One-Go (Pledge with Future Shine if you are in america) makes it look thinner & clearer. Not 100% sure but probably something to do with refraction.

Re: Crystal clear windows!!!!!
Really? Very interesting. So it doesn't actually thin the plastic, just makes it appear thinner?

Microscale Crystal Clear or Testors Clear Parts Cement.
Yep RK, that's right. They just look thinner. Odd, but true.
