Ms Norm - 440 Dart
I got fed up with waiting so I dragged out the Revell Mr Norm '68 Dart from my cupboard.
I'm resisting the temptation to drop a Hemi into it but it's hard.
Plan is to stick with the 440 but with a bigger carbie & free flowing air cleaner.
I'm thinking low as possible wearing 2 tone satin black & grey but can't decide on the wheels.
I'm torn between the minilites, the red oxide and the yellow (which i'd do black centres/chrome rims)

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
I like the mini-lites, but you'd have to stick to some kind of road racer theme to pull it off I reckon.

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
Paul - those are from the Revell Motor City Muscle GT500 Mustang. Thanks for the tip. I'll give David Koolkits a chance to get me one first though.
Road racer theme is good. Except that it has a vinyl roof which you don't see on many race cars.
It'll need minitubs with them to get it low enough.

True - but they certainly did exist in the 70s:
I've also seen a local Valiant Pacer hardtop (same as the Dart) that competes in sprints and has done Targa Tas and it has a vinyl roof (and an auto!) which would make for a very non-racy combo...

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
Gee Zen I think you'd better go with the Minilites or you will never hear the end of it!
Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
Go with the ones in the second photo down, minilites look tuff on minis and sh1thouse on anything else. But thats just what I think! Let the bagging begin!

Are you on drugs Rob?
Have you seen Eric Bana's XB coupe?
Or Beechey's Monaro?
Or Moffat's Mustang?
Care to change your opinion?

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
Seen them all Bryce, they look like sh1t! Poxy as, would look better with dirty old 12 slotters on them. I think they just look tacky and cheap.

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
I prefer the 2nd set as well. The minilights look ok but more as a race type car imho

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
Maybe we should all dissent over which wheel would look best on a T-shirt?
Do your own thing Fred and surprise us, otherwise you'll never hear the end of it.

Easily. "Ya can't beat cubes" so therefore a 440 is better...
Plus i'll be building a Hemi Dart just as soon as my order arrives.
As I said, i'm torn between the Minilites, the red oxide ones and the yellow ones...

Re: Ms Norm - 440 Dart
Second picture wheels are too large diameter to get the front down where I want it without chopping out the inner guards.
Same with the yellow ones.
In fact only the minilites and the red oxides will let me drop it in the weeds without major surgery.
However laziness has won the day once again. The kit wheel backs will not fit into the red oxide wheels easilly so I will be going with the Minilites so I can use the kit wheel attachments.
I mini tubbed the 2nd side last night and finished narrowing the rear axle. I also dropped the front wheel mounts and primered the engine.
It is at this point that Bryce posts
