QMHE
Hi guys.
I spoke to a couple of you last year about an the AMCC lounge at the show for all members to bring a few cars along to display, have a build or just dribble on.
I was wondering if anyone would be intersted in trying to do it this year, we may have meet up or arrange a weekend where a few of us semi locals can organise a display so we can all hang out at.
post it here and let me know
Thanks guys.

Re: QMHE
Hi Trent
I tried this a few years with the TARTS. (Tabletop Auto Replica Team) - a loose group of non club aligned nobodies who simply wanted to put on a display to fill in a gap in the display area.
The organizers required that we provide people for the door, security, judging etc as if we were a proper club. Needless to say I only did it for one year and the following year there were gaps in the displays that I and a number of others who also aren't in established clubs, could have easily filled
However, if we could do something, that didn't require an over commitment. I would be interested
Chris

Re: QMHE
Ok. to easy thanks for the heads up chris. I know Bluedog normally offers his time to judging and i've got no issues with doing the same or even helping out around the show so hopefully that will cover us, do you know who we currently have to talk to about getting spot.

Re: QMHE
Same for me. I will be on holidays then so am trying to plan trip down for QMHE, drop wife off at her friends place at Caboolture for the weekend, drive back to Rocky on the Monday and hopefully fly out for USA on the Tuesday. If I am at QMHE, I don't have any problems manning site, judging or sitting at the door taking peoples money. Will be a great opportunity to catch up with alot of people there.

Re: QMHE
Its going to be a full show as i was told its all booked out with traders and clubs. ill be back like usual hopefully there will be plenty of cars on the comp table. Also if anyone has a entery in the comp make sure you put in some reference of what you did mainly in enhanced upto the modified class it helps the judges as 2 years ago a few kits had nothing and it made it hard for the judges

Re: QMHE
They shouldn't be judging if they don't know what they're looking at, this happens all the time. Find some judges that know the subjects at hand.dwayne wrote: Also if anyone has a entery in the comp make sure you put in some reference of what you did mainly in enhanced upto the modified class it helps the judges as 2 years ago a few kits had nothing and it made it hard for the judges

Re: QMHE
It looks like they've updated the website with this year's entry forms and revised categories. Doesn't appear to be many changes although I can't see the modified diecast on the list anymore - I can't remember if this was a popular category though.

Re: QMHE
They got rid of the diecast because of little enteries and have added (wait for it) Gundam kits and card kits

Re: QMHE
I'm surprised that they kept Realspace then considering that it didn't get any entries at all last year. Also glad they trimmed down the Warhammer categories, it was a bit of a PITA judging about a dozen different categories with a couple of figures each.

Someone have it in for Hotwheels?
Gee i'm so f*****g funny, sometimes I nearly crack a smile.
That Gundam giant robot stuff seemed to be fairly popular at Expo. If I was 12 again it'd be what i'd be looking at building.

Re: QMHE
Alrighty gentleman, here's the go we have do some volunteering at the show so the positions that are required are door attendants, compitition stewards as well as judges for saturday night. please let me know names and what positions you would like to fill.
The other thing is stand size we have a choice of a large site 4.5m x 3.2m or 3.5m x 3.0m, the other issue is we have to hire a table which $16 for a 2.4m x .8m or $13 for a 1.8m x .8m
Let me know your thoughts as soon as possible please guys.
Don't forget Tubman has AMCC T'shirts for sale make sure you get one for the show so we locate each other at pub afterwards.lol

Re: QMHE
You've done a great job putting all this together should be a good weekend.
I'd like to help out, I don't think I have enough experience to be a steward or judge so I guess I could man the door. Question though, how long would I have to stand at the door? Last thing I want to do is be stuck standing at the door all day!

Re: QMHE
Clutch, in years gone past you would only be at the door to take entry money and sell raffle tickets as people came through. You would normally be on the door for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Enough time to sit down from all the walking around the entries. A steward normally stays within the competition tables to keep people from touching the comp models. It is also a good way of looking at the comp models as you can be a lot closer to them than from the normal spectator side. You dont need many special skills to keep people from touching the comp tables (you might need some special ninja moves on some people though)!
