Re: QMHE
Well an hour and a half's not too bad. Last year I remember taking breaks from walking around so to man the door for a while would be a good idea. I think I'll give the steward a miss though, maybe next year, need to practice my ninja skills.

Re: QMHE
O.k. guys the time has come. If you have any models that you want to put on display only bring em along, we have a site so need to fill it. The main display will need about 45 cars, I can bring up to 30 if I need to but hopefully we should get plenty if everyone brings a couple. Rocket and I will be in there tonight setting as much as we can up and will finish in the morning. Hope to see as many forum guys as possible, don't forget your AMCC shirts....IF you bought one.

Re: QMHE
Thought I'd throw a couple of pics up from QMHE of what we have been up to. The idea came up when at Mackay show in May but we didn't find out till a couple of weeks ago that we had a site. I built the base, the speakers and posts, Shoey build the shed and screen and Rocket made the trees. We all added a few cars and this is what we ended up with for our first AMCC display. We are already planning for next year.
Will post competition cars tomorrow.

Re: QMHE
What a wonderful way to display model cars! I have many fond memories of Drive-in Theatres, but for the life of me I can't remember the movies I saw there !
Is there a small projector inside the shed?
Good to see the AMCC is spreading out too - thanks guys. Looking forward to seeing more pics.

Re: QMHE
Thanks guys, appreciate the comments.
Yes terry, there is a projector no bigger than a ciggy packet, apparently Dick Smith sells them, just plug in a memory stick and away you go, worked a treat, Running on empty got played a few times. Word was we just missed out on the club display award, the club that won was having their 10th anniversary
Already have plans for next year well under way, we are going to get a big banner for the background screenprinted from my mate that does the Tshirts and a cover for the table with the AMCC logo repeated across the front. It would be great if we could get some of you Southerners up here to help spread the word and blow these Military guys away, we are also getting a bigger site to fit more stuff on.
Will post comp pics soon.

Re: QMHE
Great pics Tubs. Was a top weekend. Bugger that we didn't get a photo of us with the AMCC shirts on Saturday.
It was great that I gave the military guys a run for their money
with my Chev. just missing out on Best of show. I also grabbed a 1st in Modified and Committee's Choice Open with it. I was tickled Pink.
Our Drive-in Dio was awesome, thanks to everyone that helped with it! the screen looked a lot better in person.
Cheers

Re: QMHE
There's some real quality work there! I swear every time I see photos from an event somewhere in Australia, the builds just get better. It would be cool to be able to take some builds over to the US like we are starting to do with 1:1 cars, with the kind of work some of us Aussies can do I reckon we could give em a run for their money at their shows.
Congrats to everyone who managed to grab some awards

Re: QMHE
Had a look at the show Saturday arvo, certainly was a good collection of quality models on display and in competition. A good range of auto models to look at. It was a good chance to meet some of the amcc guys who were around at the time, thanks shoey for the intro's.
Might have to try and show some models next year.
Cheers peter.

Would love to have you mid north coast guys up, well would love everybody to come up actually but it's a bit closer for you guys, I'm sure you would have a good time.
Sorry I missed you Peter, I went home about 2.30, I was fairly buggered, had been a big day. Always next year. We need more car stuff on the comp tables, I feel it's a very military orientated show and I would love to change that but will only happen with greater numbers and to make our presence felt with a bigger and better display. As I said, we have already started planning and should have our site booked soon, that's right isn't it Rocket
