It's on again, Melbourne Cup weekend, October 29th and 30th!

Some may say unfortunately, but I say fortunately, the old venue of Pakenham Racecourse has been sold off for housing development and we've moved to a new venue at Lardner Park just outside of Warragul. It's only another 20 minutes down the freeway from the old venue and boy is it just about the perfect place to hold this type of event. Yup, way better than the old place.

First up it's easier to get in and out of the venue, there's more parking for spectators and heaps more parking for entrants. Better still there's a system of roads and streets that make cruising to check out the other entrant's cars something that will come naturally and much easier than the old venue.

Of course there'll be live roack n roll music, all day long on Sunday plus heaps of other things to do.

For us, there's the model car show, with neat trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd model, plus a special encouragement award for junior modellers. This year I'll be throwing in a special award of a pinstriped toolbox for the best Hot Rod or Kustopm on the table. The judge is a well known hot rodder so just because your models may not be up to being judged in an event like the one at Sandown Park this weekend, doesn't mean you'll not be in the hunt for one of the neat trophies at The Picnic.

So, clear everything from your calendar and plan to be at The Picnic to enjoy the 1/1 scale cars and associated fun as well as showing off your kool model cars.

See ya'all there!
