Tommy Ivo Dragster
Bored again waiting for glue to dry so found this in the cabinet. An oldie but a goldie & the last time I plumb a double row injector system. Kit is out of the box other than the engine detailing. I spent hours trying to get the headers to line up & threw away that chrome windscreen other than that it was a great kit to build
If anyone has the Show Boat could you chuck a photo on for me. I don't have one yet but would like to see a finished one
Been some great models on the site. Well done gentlemen

Re: Tommy Ivo Dragster
Nice.
I'm always tempted by the Showboat (how can you go past 4 engines & all wheels spinning?).
But i'd be tempted to also get hold of the Wagon Master resin trans kit...

Re: Tommy Ivo Dragster
Love this Ivo car, You've done a great job on all the detailing paint and decals , very sweet looking model. I'm interested in what colour you painted it as referance photos seem to vary.
Here's some photos of the leftovers of an incomplete Showboat Kit.
cheers peter.

Re: Tommy Ivo Dragster
Apologies i meant to answer this one earlier
Paint is "Colors by Boyd" Orange Pearl enamel - Did it with the old airbrush & its got me beat that it turned out OK. Its hard trying to match colours. Even in the 70's colour photo reproduction was iffy & what you see on the net could be anything. I just try to put myself in Tommy's shoes & pick what i think is best. There was no sponsership demands back then, you could choose your own colour which makes it harder for us. Mind you I have seen some wide variation in Gulf blue
Headers don't come up that badly live. Frankly I was so pinged off just getting them roughly lined up that I just stuck them on & ran away. Later models are better!
