1940 Ford Sedan Delivery
Well, back to the bench guys, and you've seen dad do a couple of these so now it's my turn.
It's a fairly old kit of the AMT 1940 Ford Sedan, and it's going to get the magical "Clark" touch.
Should be a fairly chilled build as my last three have been heavy mods. Just a detailed tidy build.
Wheels are Pegasus Hollis, something I was pestering dad for, for ages and have now found the right kit!
And Allan, I'm thinking of a Candy Lime green all over with a cream interior.

Re: 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery
I think you've got your colour scheme right there in the second pic.
Bottom half same green as the chassis.
Top half a terracotta same as the table and a purple/blue dividing line (a wide one) same as the thing on the table.

Bloody Oath Dean. You called it.
I just couldn't keep it relatively stock looking so I had to give it my own twist. And by this, I changed the rear fender tail lights.
What they started out as was Sgt. stripe looking things. So the first thing was to cut out some plastic to shape, glue it in and sand it down.
Once it's smooth, mark and measure your points and drill some pilot holes
Then you attack it with some more drills, gradually increasing in size until you've got what you want. Then hit it with some primer!
Also running with the stock v8 flathead with triple carbs and a little bit of detailing.

Good work Adam, nice to see a flathead every-now and then.

Cool engine the top two rear tail lights look like they are pointing to high up, they need to be angle down a bit.

Re: 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery
Nice work so far. The side view has a lovely stance. I really like the wheel/tire combo. Looking back you've already finished out the chassis, and it looks to be fairly stock AMT. How are you planning to get it down so low? When I slam an AMT that low I landing up have to do some major surgery on the front and rear cross members. Recently on my AMT '36 Ford 3-window, which is virtually the same chassis, I was able to do the front end by just shaving the front crossmember slightly and removing several leaves from the front spring which leaves the chassis fairly intact and easy to retouch. For the rear I usually hog out the slot the spring goes into and shove the rear axle up against the frame. That work is entirely hidden by the spring so retouching would be minimal. On the '40 Coupe below the work is far more extreme and included channeling the sectioned body over the frame, requiring modifications to the fender assembly, a whole other can of worms... (Incidently, I often cheat and cut the tops off the tires to get them up into the fenders... shhhhh....)
I'm looking forward to seeing more on this. It should be a really sharp machine!

Re: 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery
Yeaaap! That is pretty much the entirety of what I've done here. Other than cutting the tops off the wheel (Don't think I've ever done that on a model)
I have however cut the rear's in half (Width wise) to sit up between the chassis and the fender.
