Re: scrap steel model art
ok time for THUNDERBIRD 2 ,,like the rest of the things i have made,,there not exact and have my spin on it..i had a small version when i was growing up,,then about 20 years ago i bought a thunderbirds set,,with no1 no2 no3 no 4 and the car in it...hopefully i will make the lot out scrap steel,,,,thunderbird2 is 65cms long and wing span of 46cms,,,,this took a bit longer to make because of all the curves and contours,,about 10 hours

Re: scrap steel model art
Absolutely awesome!!!!!! Would love to see one chromed. They put me in mind of those 1950's? art deco airliners and things you used to see at your Nanna's place when you were a kid.

Re: scrap steel model art
thanks heaps on the replies, there always very encouraging and its always good to know that someone else gets my style ,,even if its only from a picture,,,,sometimes 2d doesn't do 3d justice ,there all around the house and im still seeing different things depending on light and from where im viewing them from.
I have made several different gifts and surprises for family and friends ,,,,and i have just started a piece for somebody I have never meet and more than likely will never meet,,,,this person is doing something pretty special for other people and I have been made aware that this person loves 1 of my previous pieces,,so the plan is to spend 5 or 6 hours making another 1 as close to what has been seen,,then mail it and surprise them with it.
when its gets there I will post a few pics.

That's so cool. I prefer to build models of other people's cars and trucks and give it to them. I don't have much room at home plus it feels great to see them happy to have a mini version of their vehicle. I've done one for my grandfather, father in law and my brother to give to his father in law so far. Plan to do more. Cheers.
