'49 Merc Custom
As requested by Clutch(Joe) and Carps here is my take on the new Revell 1949 Merc kit I've chopped the top, removed the pillars in the middle of the windows. Im currently lowering the suspension, I used sports bandage tape on the seats for some texture. The rims are from the 1966 Chevy El Camino kit and the white walls are hand painted. I hinged the hood to tilt forward for a custom show car look. The checkers on the firewall are hand painted and need some touching up. The intake on the engine is off the Revell 70 Boss 302 kit and the speakers in the trunk are from the AMT F&F 350z kit
Enjoy and stay tuned!
I think im gonna mask off and re-peint the fire wall, im not happy with the hand-painted result
Thanks for looking

Re: '49 Merc Custom
So this is your Merc. Looks like you have an absolute mountain of work ahead of you. Should look sweet when finished. Nice job making the hinge for the bonnet, looks like a good fit.

Re: '49 Merc Custom
What filler are you using 'stang?
Filling and sanding is one of my least favourite jobs but it gives auch satisfying results as a nicely shaped car appears from the raggedy lump of plastic & filler you started with.

Re: '49 Merc Custom
I use putty from bunnings, great stuff and I recommend it to everyone. $10 buchs for a big tube, its called Norjso or something I will double check . You can get it in super fine water proof grey filler and this white non-water proof stuff. Ive got both and they are great
