Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
Thanks guys. Yeah I'm happy with it but there are a few things that I have noticed that can't be fixed at this late stage. Obviously nothing that I will tell you about (smoke and mirrors from now on). I figured that casting the body was the halfway point in the project so now I'm over the hump I'm hoping it's all downhill from here.

Our accounts department used to drive one of these (with a 6). It was called old yeller and was exactly the colour of the resin.

Maybe he was trying for a new look woody lol
As I've said before and probably will again, phenomenal work Shawn, it puts most if not all the mode companies to shame.

Yep. I'll try and do an XF ute. I've been casting extra bodies so I'll be moding one for a GroupC and one for a yoot.

Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
Wow, just wow. I want to say something that hasn't been said already, but...
Thanks so much for sharing every step with us all here. I've seen countless builds with crazy mods, detailing, scratchbuilding and kitbashing, but this is the first time I've seen step by step a whole model built almost entirely from scratch. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's picked up a few tips along the way, along with quite a bit of inspiration.
Well done mate, I'm ready for the second half

Hi Shawn
Not much I can add to the comments from others on your build. Has kind of left me speechless..and in awe. look forward to seeing how you did your molds.
By the way do you dust the inside of your molds with talcum powder? This helps break surface tension between the resin and the rtv ,which should help eliminate some of the air bubbles? Works most of the time. You probably are already aware of this anyway.
cheers
Kerry

Oh man, it just keeps getting better and better, if that's possible.
I love the detail you put into your posts Shawn, seeing it all come together out of nothing into the finished part......Amazing.

Mate ...go put your feet up for a while, grab a beer (or 6) and take a well deserved break. God knows you deserve it. Effing brilliant as usual !
Re: XE Falcon S-Pack ** so anyway 8 years later- **
Thanks Dean.
Well guys I thought that I'd better tell you that I've just started tinkering around with the Falc again. It dawned on me that I am about to run out of quality casting weather and I only do resin casting when it's fine and sunny. I need to cast the interior ASAP or the whole thing will go nowhere in a hurry.
I have started fine tuning a few things in the interior and have cut the resin bonnet off of the body and have started to make a new (thinner) bonnet out of evergreen sheet. I will update you with pics as soon as I have something to show you.
Finally, I have decided to put a Group C racing version on the back burner as I cross checked the decals on Patto's site with pics of the real things and decided that the artwork (mostly incorrect fonts) on Patto's decals isn't as good as it could be. Making a ute version is still high priority.
See ya soon
