It's hard taking my camera all the way down to the shed and then there's the time it takes to upload... Very Happy

...and my inveterate laziness of course.

But I just had to show off my snazzy ruler. It's an architects ruler for measuring off of construction drawings (which of course you are not supposed to do) and has all the common scales. Unfortunately to an architect "common" does not mean 1/25 or any of the other usual model scales.
However, that doesn't matter if I am transferring a dimension from, say a chassis to a piece of sheet.

I was going to cut off that moulded in exhaust. But it's not too bad, will paint detail nicely and as i'm going for a mostly stock look i'd only end up scratchbuilding one nearly identical.

The grille's coming along. Obviously not quite done, but taking shape. Shown here mocked up with the bumper, I'm planning on using the rear bumper on the front, since it's a bit thinner. Not sure what I'll do for a rear bumper, haven't thought of that yet Razz

Slowly getting there, id really like to keep the number of lines i have to putty and sand to minimum, working my way down the front. I really hope i get no adverse effects from gluing the styrene on there bent, still gotta resize the front wheel arches.... lol I have no idea what Im doing. Gunna add some strips along the front to make a little recess for the light mouldings i still have to make... Theres no better end than the deep end.

Allrighto, a little progress... Not much, but Im getting there. Resized and reshaped the front arches, awaiting putty. Cut out a shape for the front pan that Im gunna make later.

The front end was giving my the grumps, so I decided to so something completely unnecessary

OK Mr Slowly, i really like the side profile, top job, but i'm having trouble with the front end, a bit like your self i think. Just a thought, get rid of that bit of flat plastic and insert a grill and bits n' pieces from something else, then fill in the gaps, i think you can do it mate, just go for it!! Hey Zac, where have you gone mate, get back at that table!! Razz Very Happy

I agree with DeeCee...the front makes it look too much like the Scooby mobile or a VW. It needs a rakish angle on it...not so flat...and some chrome or lights or grill work.

Here I am! No photo-worthy updates yet, been so busy lately with other stuff. I've filled the nasty bits from the section though, and finished off the dash. I'm still staring at the grille, wondering if it's on the right track.
I got an email from Modelhaus the other day saying that the new bed has been shipped, can't wait for it to get here Very Happy

More updates soon folks, I promise. In fact, I have a bit of spare time right now. I might mosey on over to the bench and see what happens Very Happy

You can spot a troubling bit aye DeeCee, Iv been battling with the front end since I chopped it up lol Iv redone it in one bit of sheet, and Im going to add some styrene or down the bottom of the front and shape a roll pan and work my way up. The hardest bit has been deciding what kinda design to do, I really like double round headlight setups but nothing seems right so far aye :S

Yeah youre right mgy, Iv been trying to avoid the Mystery Machine look this whole time aye, one theres a bit of detail on it, it shouldnt look so flay, its gunna have the front curving in from the sides sith the new version Iv done, heres hoping it'll look a tad better Razz

Heck yeah Zac, just start goin' crazy at the bench and see what happens aye ahhaha

Hmmmm. Definately the Mystery Machine.

If it was mine i'd be looking at sawing the front off of a car to glue onto that massive flat slab.
I can picture it with something like a '57 chev bumper and grille and upper trim with a pair of peaked headlight buckets sunk into each side in a vertical stack.
In between the lamps put a louvered access panel (you could use parts of those '32 bonnet sides).
Obviously you need to have the parts to do it...

I've decided to add a boat and trailer to my build as it is coming along far too quickly - pics tomorrow.

Nice to see you using the squeezybottle superglue, its expensive, but the plastic cover around the regular tube works wonders!
